Why are my batteries dying so fast?
You’re likely using the flash at full power. Try lowering your f-stop or raising your ISO so that the flash doesn’t need to work so hard to light the image.
Why does the light look so harsh?
The light may look harsh for a variety of reasons. It could be too bright in comparison to the ambient light, in which case you can lower your light power or brighten your background. It could be a hard light source creating hard-lined shadows, which you can fix by creating a bigger light source in relation to your subject.
