Introduction
This chapter focuses on the detection and resolution of performance issues at the individual query level. Performance and tuning is a broad topic and could fill an entire book. This chapter, however, will focus on showplan messages and set option show query processor set commands. In pre-ASE 15 terms, set option show is utilized to display optimizer diagnostics. The detection and resolution of performance issues with some of the new features are explored. In particular, an emphasis is on diagnosing situations with incorrect partition strategies in an ASE server.
