ASE installation is a topic that is not often taught through formal instruction. It seems to be assumed the database administrator can thumb through the ASE installation manuals and complete the task. While this is often true, a simpler, step-by-step approach is needed. The approaches outlined in this chapter contain some examples of how to install ASE and its components, and offer screen shots, steps, and command-line examples from three different methods of ASE installation.
