Chapter 15Java, XML, and Web Services in ASE
Java and XML in the database were introduced in Adaptive Server Enterprise 12 (major changes were introduced in 12.5.1). Web Services were introduced in Adaptive Server Enterprise in 12.5.2. The purpose of this chapter is to provide an overview of these features, highlight the enhancements in Adaptive Server Enterprise 15, and identify areas to consider when using these features. This chapter is not intended to make you an expert in Java, XML, or Web Services. It also does not try to cover all these features in detail.
