Neptune Chest
They don’t make furniture today like they used to. Furniture from the early 1900s was built to be refinished: solid wood, heavy, and embellished with veneers of burl patterns. Fortunately, the bones tend to survive but not always the fragile veneers. Repairing veneer is something that I have yet to try. I have found a way to use Fluid Art on these old, chipped pieces and still be able to show off the beautiful areas of the burl veneer and hide the areas I repaired with wood filler. I feel that when I do fluid art on furniture, it makes the piece look as though it was carved out of a planet or a section of the sky.
