Effective Writing

Be Consistent

Expertly setting expectations with your client is meaningless if you don’t follow through. In all the documentation that you are responsible for you must be consistent in the format, content, frequency, and quality. If you are responsible for a weekly status report, set aside time each week so that you can deliver a quality document in a timely fashion. Since all project-related documentation benefits the client, it is billable. You could create these documents while you are on site, but it is a much better use of your time on site to spend it with your client, and so you should check with your project manager to see if you can create your documentation off site.
