Making your family-friendly arrangement work requires an ongoing effort. The option to work an alternate schedule represents a benefit, not an entitlement. You should treat the arrangement with respect and make sure you don’t take advantage of the opportunity. Unless you have a signed contract with company, the company has no obligation to continue to support your alternate work arrangement. With that in mind, you can take steps to make sure your arrangement succeeds.
