DURING THE TIME we were apart—before, during, and after the trial—I had some strange sightings of Martin. We never spoke, but I would see him parked outside my house, just sitting there. He never got out of the car. He never walked up to my front door and knocked. Not once. And yet it wasn’t like he was trying to be discreet. Driving around in a Ferrari made him more than a little conspicuous.
