Alley to the Valley started in 2010 in a phone conversation between Deborah and Janet Hansen, the founder of 85 Broads (later known as Elevate Network) and a former executive at Goldman Sachs. Janet asked Deborah, “What is going on with the women in Silicon Valley? Whatever it is, can you bottle it up and send it here to the women on the East Coast?”
