27.1. Obtaining Errors and Omissions Insurance
Even producers who take all reasonable clearance precautions occasionally miss something. There are also cases in which a rights owner makes a meritless claim against a producer. Errors and omissions insurance, or E&O insurance, protects you in those circumstances. E&O insurance is called by a number of other names including media liability insurance, media peril insurance, and producer’s liability insurance.
