Abstract: As consultants, we all know the value of vision. Vision as a leadership concept is not new. Almost every consultative model has a vision component, and tools to help an organization create and sustain a vision continue to crowd the shelves of bookstores. Indeed, without vision, achieving that elusive synergy we consultants promote to our clients is difficult.

The article describes what happens when an organization's problem isn't a lack of vision but too much of it, when a CEO bulges with vision, or the vision changes monthly, weekly, or even daily—driving the organization crazy.
