3. The Patch Tool Becomes Content-Aware
The Patch Tool has been around in Photoshop for many years, and is a very valuable tool for retouching photographs. You can use it to select an area that you want to retouch and then drag that selection to a clean target area; the Patch Tool does the work of blending the lighting, texture, and shading between the source and destination patches. It is a wonderful tool for removing blemishes, fading wrinkles, correcting sensor spots in the sky, and a host of other retouching tasks. All of that functionality is still in Photoshop CS6.
