It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Round-Tripping Between Lightroom and Photoshop
Send Images Using Lightroom’s External Editing Link
There are basically two ways to send images from Lightroom into Photoshop. You can either use Lightroom’s external editing link or create an Export preset. Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages. First, we will look at the straightforward method for sending images to Photoshop using Lightroom’s external editing link.

1. In Lightroom, right-click (Option/Alt-click) an image or a group of selected images.
2. Select Edit In > Edit in Photoshop CC from the context menu.
