Designing or revising a course can require months of research and planning. During the design process teachers should make an organized outline that incorporates the topics discussed here. That outline will eventually become the course-design and the syllabus. The investment a teacher makes in considering all the details of a successful course requires a lot of thought, organization, and energy, but this investment will pay off many times over in the time it will save during the semester.
