The Power of Layer Masks
One of the things that Elements never had that the full version of Photoshop did was layer masks. It was always one of the big features that people liked more about the full version of Photoshop. Well, I’m happy to be the bearer of good news: Elements now has layer masks. Yup, the same layer masks as Photoshop. These things are a huge help when it comes to working on your photos. Whether it’s retouching, color correction, sharpening—you name it—layer masks play a key role. We’ll give you a quick introduction here, but you’ll see them pop up plenty of times throughout this chapter, and the rest of the book.
