How can you design transaction and innovation platform business models?
Two fundamental types of platform can be distinguished.5 First, there are transaction platforms such as marketplaces. Like Amazon, eBay, Airbnb or Uber, they bring two sides of the market together and facilitate transactions between those market sides. Second, there are innovation platforms like Apple iOS and Google Android, but also Microsoft Xbox or Sony PlayStation.
