Are French fries carcinogenic?

A Swedish study reported in 2002 that starch-based foods such as French fries, potato chips, rice and cereal contain acrylamide, which was linked to cancer in lab experiments. Did you stop eating these foods as a result? If you had, you'd have been surprised nine months later by a follow-up study. It found that these foods, while they do contain acrylamide, do not appear to cause cancer.
