Light Does More than Illuminate a Scene

Light is a very strong part of a photograph, yet when taking pictures, many photographers see the subject and not the light. They are overly influenced by what the subject "is" as compared to what the subject looks like to the camera.

This also applies to color. Too often a photographer will see wonderful color in a subject and its surroundings but fail to capture that color because of the light. Light has a huge effect on what that color looks like and how it records with a digital camera. In this chapter, you will see light in a new light!
