While the staging phase involved team preparation and primarily process-related issues, the aligning phase focuses the Discovery team on the content of the initiative. Where should the team begin to explore for the best new business opportunities? What new areas are most consistent with the mission, strategy, or capabilities of the organization? What are the company’s “strategic frontiers”?
