20.1. Developing Business Objectives
Establishing objectives is a forecasting activity that requires significant planning and training to achieve the intended results. Defining business objectives starts at the top and cascades down through the organizational structure to the individual business unit manager. The objectives at each level of the organization should support the enterprise’s business strategies as well as the business objectives of the supporting units. The resulting business objectives must be quantified and qualified, so they can be prioritized, ranked, and measured in terms of performance.
