Chapter 22. Portfolio, Program, and Project Authorization

The second process in the business objective execution group (see Figure 20-9) is the formal authorizing of those PBM components (port folios, programs, and projects) that were prioritized and selected for execution. These were provided as the primary output of the enterprise’s objective selection process (Table 21-1). Authorizing is the process of writing the charter for a PBM component and communicating the PBM initiating documentation and charter to the appropriate PBM component manager.
