I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
9 The Risk of Underestimating Leadership Value
Value Defined
Value can be defined as anything a customer is willing to pay for (1). Merriam-Webster defines value as ‘a fair return in goods, services, or money for something exchanged.’ From a leadership perspective, what does value really mean? Is leadership value the ability to tell good stories and play politics? Is value in leadership a great resume with industry leading credentials? Does high value for leaders correlate with the ability to implement large scale change successfully? Can a leader be seen as a high value contributor if they save the organization money? We will discuss these and more considerations in the following.
