#1 DON'T LET DIFFERENCES KEEP YOU FROM GOLD

For every organization out there, big or small, whenever you put lots of people with different backgrounds, different experiences, and different personalities together and ask them to work toward a common goal, there are going to be clashes.

You, as the manager, are not going to be compatible with every person on your team, and that is OK. In fact, it's an unavoidable reality.

While you may not be compatible with everyone, as the manager, you are expected to put your differences aside, produce maximum results for the company, and win together. If you're (knowingly or unknowingly) disregarding someone on your team just because you don't like them, the joke is on you.

You're the one who's failing as a leader and potentially missing out on that person's ideas, insights, and maximum talents. Don't throw out great ideas and feedback because you don't like the source where it's coming from.

More importantly, don't let something as trivial as a personality clash keep you from being the best leader you can be. Approach every relationship you have on your team with optimism, and evaluate every idea objectively, with an open mind.

Mentor everyone equally and guide all of your people to their best selves, whether you get along with them or not.
