LEADERSHIP BY THE MANY brings people together, reinforces a strong sense of culture and community, and articulates a shared vision that inspires people. This is the prelude to the real work of Latino leaders: concerted and collective social action. As “minorities,” Latinos have experienced discrimination and exclusion. This drives an activist leadership form, which builds coalitions and cultivates a critical mass of people with the purpose of changing the social and economic conditions that perpetuate inequality.
