Based on Microsoft Engineering Excellence practice guidelines, consider the following prerequisites for completing an efficient and effective FTA.

• A skilled FTA facilitator

  • The FTA facilitator should have a good understanding of fault tree analysis concepts and the procedure for generating a fault tree. Although a facilitator may not be absolutely required if the meeting participants are very familiar with FTA, an advantage of having one is the person’s ability to guide the discussion and keep it on track.
