A reality check
When I work with people I ask them to bring a presentation they have prepared and deliver it for me. I record this presentation on a camera and then I play it back to them.
The question I ask after I record them and before I play it back is, ‘Do you think you got your messages across?’
Most people will be afraid to give any sort of definitive answer and will usually shrug their shoulders and hope for the best. However, in every group there will be someone who says to me with absolute certainty they did get their messages across.
