Abstract:
Business practices need to be adapted to the internal and external environments a firm operates in, and firms operating in LDCs in Asia operate in different environments than do firms in more developed economies. Firms operating in the LDCs of Asia need to take into account the economic, political, legal, cultural and technological environments they will encounter. Some of the unique features found in firms in LDCs in Asia include smaller size of companies, few firms with a separation between ownership and management, lack of a highly educated and experienced workforce and more of an entrepreneurial orientation.
