Abstract

This chapter notes that as we have moved into the information age, crime has changed, along with our ability to investigate it; that is, computers can be both investigative tools and objects of evidence. The chapter explores using computers as investigative tools through spreadsheet programs to arrange information, database programs to integrate information from large masses of data, presentation programs for briefings or reports, and the use of specialized software (analytical software, diagramming programs, investigations management programs).
