SOME PROJECTS DEMAND YOU map out your story elements well in advance. You may want to write a detailed outline or even a “fantasy script,” mapping out some potential soundbites if your show is interview-driven. Other projects require a more flexible approach, with potential scenes and characters evolving as you shoot. Regardless, you’ll need to think through the arc of the story.
