TRUE OR FALSE: Fill-in-the-blank templates for product managers increase the likelihood of a plan’s success.
MAYBE. Maybe not. Good templates can highlight important topics to evaluate as part of a planning process—and this might reduce the probability of a product manager overlooking a critical fact. Unfortunately, templates can also become an end in themselves, causing product managers to “go through the motions” without giving sufficient thought to their answers. The result is a “rinse ‘n repeat” plan which short-circuits the planning process. Be careful about this.
