On most projects—whether you're building a system, an automobile, or a skyscraper—you start with a design of how it will look. In building this design, you take into account what the end customer finds desirable in the product and what can be done given any constraints placed on the project to come up with your final solution. The more effectively you can involve your end customer in your design, the better likelihood of an overall project success.
