The Readiness to Accept Ownership of a Situation

Project managers are responsible for project delivery and are therefore owners of any problems that interfere with successful completion of the project. They are prepared to accept the job of managing these problems until a solution is reached.

Look for employees who ''take on too much'' or who seldom deny responsibility for an issue, even if the issue is clearly beyond their roles. The responses that are most indicative of project management capabilities are those such as, ''That's not really my field, but if you like, I can talk to Fred.'' Responses that are negative are of the variety, ''Why are you asking me?''
