What is this about and why is it important?

Multi-tasking is a part of life. We are all used to juggling multiple activities and working on them in parallel. The era of portable smart devices which continuously ping us with calls, text messages, instant messages, emails and updates to social networks seems to have increased the degree of multi-tasking required. Members of project teams are no exception. Their lives are often plagued by multi-tasking.
