The culture of delivery
What is this about and why is it important?
Project teams do not deliver alone, but as part of larger organisations. Typically, only a small part of the organisation is involved in any one project. However, delivery success is impacted significantly by the culture of this larger organisation.
Many have experienced easier delivery in some organisations compared to others. Some organisations have cultures which encourage delivery, whilst others have cultures which obstruct delivery.
Individual project teams can typically do very little to alter an organisation’s culture. But by understanding those characteristics which help delivery and those which hinder it, project teams can take mitigating actions.
