Not seeing the wood for the trees
What is this about and why is it important?
We all know that projects can go wrong for many reasons. There are all sorts of risks and issues that every project faces. Some of these are unique to a project, but if you analyse the challenges facing multiple projects a pattern of common issues emerges. One of the surprisingly common challenges is that the objectives and the scope of the project are unclear. Without clear objectives and without an ambiguously defined scope, trouble is bound to occur.
Objectives
- Ensuring that the objectives and scope of a project are clear
- Understanding how to identify when there are problems with the objectives or scope
- Having an approach to clarifying objectives and scope
