In many ways, the media server is the heart of the video system and affects everything from the number and type of cues that can be played to the method of programming or the order of operations for the designer’s workflow. The following chapter addresses some of the many concerns that the Projection Designer should consider when selecting a media server. Since so many aspects of computer software are connected to versions and updates, we will avoid focusing on any media server in a granular sense and focus more on their intrinsic qualities.
