Preface

In the spring of 1991, we lived within a block of each other in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. Every morning, we met at the corner of Orchard and Drummond to ride the “El” to work together. Our trading careers kicked off our relationship and then life happened and solidified the bond. Twenty years later, we are looking back at two careers on the trading floor, transitions to the computer screen, and several education firms built, all of which have brought us to the decision to write this book.

These days we can take our computer anywhere so we opted for about 280 days more of sunshine per year and now live in Los Angeles. We focus on trading currencies and educating those that dare enter this business. Our mission over the years has been simple, which is to help others become independent traders, thinkers, and decision makers.

When we reminisce about our lives it seems that we have always been traders and coaches in some respect, whether it was Mike helping a fellow football teammate with his studies or Steph tutoring students through high school and college. We try to give in any way we can whether offering a friend or family member a place to stay until they got back up on their feet or holding a banner that shouted a friend's message to voters to elect him to a local political office. Living from a standpoint that life is abundant with plenty to go around for all became a mode that we wanted to live by.
