Photographers are storytellers, an apt and accurate appellation one hears all the time. We are also prospectors, and opportunists. We see a face, a place, the potential of a story, the interesting confluence of personalities, or the chance for conflict, harm, or heroism, and our antennas go up. Likewise, if we “discover” the previously unreported (at least by us) phenomenon, we dial in. We always have our eyes on the horizon and our ears on the listening post, wondering, observing, seeking.
