Once action has been taken, it takes perseverance to follow through to completion when confronted by setbacks or unexpected events. Typically, obstacles are seen as negative forces to overcome, but they can be beneficial by slowing us down to take a second look. When failures and obstacles are viewed as a way to learn, they become doors to achieving success. Remember the metaphor of the irritating grain of sand that the oyster turns into a pearl.
