So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
SUCCESS IS NOT A ROLL OF THE DICE
I am not a betting man. Gambling, I believe, is only for people who don’t care if they lose. I do care. And I’m sure you do too.
I started my first business because I wanted all the benefits of entrepreneurship—the independence, the prestige, and the money. But I’ve never been willing to risk much to get those benefits. In other words, I wanted my cake. And I wanted to eat it too.
That’s why I call myself a reluctant entrepreneur.
I honestly believe that if I did it, you can do it. Why? Because I am anything but your typical businessman. I don’t have a business degree and I’ve never even taken a business course. But I know exactly how to structure a business and make it succeed. (That’s why my clients pay me handsomely to consult with them on their multimillion-dollar businesses.) And I am putting it all down in this book as the ultimate guide for entrepreneurs.
