INTRODUCTION
If EQ and compression are the foundations upon which a good mix is based then time domain and modulation effects are definitely the fairy dust sprinkled over a mix. Time domain effects can take an otherwise flat and uninteresting collection of sounds and put them into what seems like a threedimensional place, and that has the effect of bringing everything to life. It’s like the difference between looking at a photograph in a holiday brochure and actually being there.
