I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

By now, the challenges with balancing resources with demand should be apparent, and many of the issues likely sound familiar. As evident from benchmark studies, everyone is struggling to an extent. But some are more successful than others and are operating at a much higher level of planning and decision making. They’re able to optimize their resources to a much greater degree. Let’s not forget, though, that Rome wasn’t built in a day. To emulate these organizations, first we must understand the progressive phases of maturity and see how organizations have made the jump from one phase to the next—from chaos to control.
