Abstract
Developing the electricity grid is a key issue when it comes to realize the German “Energiewende.” Since energy from renewables is often produced within rural areas but needs to be transported into urban areas with high consumption. This chapter describes and analyzes a public participation process, which was conducted in the context of an Energy Grid Construction project in southwest Germany.
