Abstract
In this chapter, the editors draw conclusions from the theoretical chapters and case studies outlined in the book. They argue that the book demonstrates that at least for the German energy transition, citizen participation and stakeholder involvement have been crucial for progressing on the route to sustainable energy systems and will be instrumental for reaching the next steps.
