Despite having been created over a century ago, Biomechanics training and approaches to performance are perhaps more relevant and applicable to the contemporary theatre landscape than at any other time. With its move away from the more conventional, psychological-based approaches to acting, I argue here that Biomechanics provides contemporary performers with an alternative methodology which aims to train the full instrument of the actor/performer.
