Find your space

One of my children’s very favourite places in all the world – his happy place – is standing just in front of Skógafoss waterfall in Iceland. Well, as close as you can get. If you’re lucky enough to have been there you’ll know that it’s one of the most beautiful places on the planet. My son also loves it because the experience of standing up close is an assault on all your senses. The noise fills your ears, the waterfall occupies your entire field of vision, the spray dusts your skin – with the result that it drives out everything else. There’s no room for stress or worry or anger. Consequently it’s a consummately relaxing place to be. It’s just a shame it’s so far away and he’s only ever had the opportunity to visit it ...
