My deepest gratitude goes unquestionably to my mother, Madame La Savage, the source of my strength and never-ending inspiration. She set me on the right path and was always by my side during her lifetime and even after her all-too-soon passing; she guided me through every phase of my life, good and bad, always the beacon of pure love and light.

To my darling twin sister, Frances, you have always loved and supported me, often unselfishly understating your own impressive achievements to emphasize my accomplishments. You’ve always pushed me to higher heights. My extended family of Grandma Hattie, aunts Hazel, Louise, and Naomi, and Uncle Thomas, provided an indispensible foundation for me while La Savage was busy working every day and night in her beauty parlor, La Savage Beauty Clinic. This strong family laid the groundwork for my life’s success.

My wife Lolita. She came into my life at a coincidental point when my business associates Brian Wruble and John Miller and I had set up the Equitable subsidiary, Equitable Capital Management, and I was charged with building our international asset management business. Lolita was the perfect partner in my life. Her sparkling personality, international experience as an accomplished fine arts painter, and fluency in seven languages helped to open doors for my business as well as open new doors into my heart. I cannot imagine my history without her.
