I want you to think for a moment about your eyes. What color are they?
I’ll bet you know what color your eyes are. But, how do you know? How did you determine your own eye color? The answer is, you either looked in a mirror (or another reflective substance like a photograph), or someone told you. In fact, those are the only two ways to determine your own eye color.
