In this book we’ve attempted to make the case that women are the biggest and most underutilized resource for social change by describing how critical they are for strengthening the forces that give rise to that change—advocacy, fundraising, electoral politics, and volunteering.
Women historically have been part of building democracy, according to Marie Wilson, the president of The White House Project, a nonprofit organization that promotes women’s leadership. “We can’t have a fully functioning society without engaging women.” Her organization’s tagline says it all: “Add women and change everything.”
