HOW THIS BOOK IS LAID OUT
This book is written and designed to be ultra user-friendly. So, just as I did in my first book, The Shut Up and Shoot Documentary Guide, I have attempted to break down the most common elements of freelance video into a comprehensive collection of clearly-illustrated simply-worded bite-sized chunks of practical production techniques and storytelling strategies that anyone can understand, digest and apply quickly to their own work. Most sections are laid out in just one to four pages. Also, because this is a visual medium populated by visual thinkers, I’ve tried to illustrate most concepts to make it even clearer and easier to understand. Here’s how it breaks down:
